The place is cozy and the food is delicious with large portions. Don't forget to press the bell when you come in. I always leave this place feeling super stuffed! The chef is very personable and comes to the table often to check with customers. Pets are also welcomed at this restaurant too and can even get a special dish with ice cream!
We bought a Groupon for this restaurant with no idea what to expect. It's a quaint restaurant in historic Melbourne. We ordered their big easy sampler and split between two a Seafood Po'boy. There was so much food, could've easily fed three comfortably. Everything is cooked to order, so definitely be patient, but I promise you won't regret!Sorry, we forgot to photo the sampler
They're been closed since before July, not entirely sure why they won't update their Google. Probably just a bunch of rude jerks who wouldn't deserve your business anyways :)
Great casual place for Cajun food. Very laid back atmosphere. So far we've tried the red beans and rice, fried basket (shrimp, calamari, and clams) and a shrimp Po boy. All reasonably priced, tasty, and worthy of a repeat visit. Really friendly, helpful staff. Definitely recommend.
Very impressed. Food was great. Owner described it as Cajun with a twist. Shrimp was great. Bisque was some of the best I've had. House sauce is really good, but different. I will be back, and soon.
In historic Melbourne, this is a small place with happy friendly service and pretty good prices.Been trying all the places I can find around for po boys, since I'm new to the area, and so far, thus is the best policy boys around.
Had to go up to Melbourne for a doctor appointment and decided to try this place out since it's only down the street from the doctor's office. We had to special on the sign outside by the street a fish basket with fries for $8.99. I had to substitute onion rings instead of french fries and the fish and it was good. Had me a cold beer to go with it and I was good to go. I'll go back and visit this place the next time I go up to Melbourne. Fast friendly service
It was not busy for a Tuesday evening..that seemed strange!Waitress and kitchen help, was pleasant in the beginning but near the end, so...so! Perhaps because we were the only party of three..They were closing at 8p...we left at 7:30p...The entrées were nicely displayed! Not sure if I'd go back, from Massachusetts...Visiting friend's...Perhaps it was their off night!
Randomly found this place after walking around and decided I needed to try. Everything I had was fresh and tender. The bread was lightly toasted instead of toasted, which I enjoyed. I was expecting a mountain of cheese with the cheesy fries however; this didn't turn me off on the meal though. Pork loin was tender and juicy. The service was awesome, friendly, and did not hover. Definitely coming back next year!
Delicious food served quickly and hot! Great seasoning on the french fries. Cute decor. Only one high chair, but they had lots of coloring books for the kids.
The Saturday Fish Fry special is huge and deliciously crispy! It's all you can eat but I couldn't finish my first one. Wish they had that fish as a sandwich too. We'll be back, for sure!
Great little place with fabulous food.
We thought we'd give this place a second chance after a dismal first attempt a while back. We really had high hopes because they were a couple blocks away from our home. We showed up at about seven and stuck around for twenty minutes or so. We both have worked in restaurants and just figured they had a quick bathroom trip or something. Nope. Open signs were all on. Lights were all on. Nobody was there. Why would anyone try and eat here?
Delicious food. Best shrimp ever. Server was not so friendly in the beginning.
A cute little place. Be sure to sit on the porch when it is nice out. Had the shrimp po boy. Has what you need from a po boy, great texture contrast between the bread and the shrimp. Sauce could be spicer. So ask for extra. Wanted to try the red beans, but you can only eat so much at one sitting as the sandwich was huge.
This is one of the best restaurants that I've eaten at. Small quiet little place great location great crowd. The food is a one the service is top-notch. The two meals that I've eaten there we're the two best versions of that meal I've ever eaten.
Great food, good prices and service. The fried fish po'boy was excellent!
First time here... Stop what you are doing get out of work and you have to come and eat here ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. FLAVORFUL. REALLY NICE PRESENTATION... You will NOT REGRET it. Got the red beans rice side with the steak sirloin po boy. Probably the best red beans I've ever tasted in my life. ENJOY
The food is AMAZING! The flavors are awesome and everything is delicious! Will definitely be returning and recommending Tabone's to family and friends!
Loved it! My husband and I tried their sample platter from the appetizer list. For my main I got the sausage and shrimp with cheesy grits (pictured) and he got the fish of the day platter which came with coleslaw and red beans and rice. We are excited to come back and try the rest of the menu! Hefty portions, amazing flavor, great customer service.
Closes early, gumbo was not dangerous enough. The rue was very tame. Lots of good shrimp and oysters in it. Went back 2 more times to try there dinner menu. Both times they had closed early.
What is the deal with this place?! I have driven by multiple times, called, and checked their hours/ social media and see no activity. But yet there are recent reviews. Fake reviews? This restaurant needs to be open when they say they are.
Loved the place! Definitely worth going. Great food!
Pretty tasty po boy - bread was perfect. $3 up charge for the red beans and rice was not worth it at all. Small portion and mediocre flavor. Not bad, but not spectacular. I'd have been much happier with it if it was maybe only $1 more than fries - rice and beans are cheap!
Great service and shrimp po boys are great and the calamari on Fridays is great.
Brightly decorated and cozy space. The mixed seafood po boy is a lot of seafood. The fried flavor is more like a New England fried seafood than New Orleans but nonetheless delicious!
Interesting! Food was good. Casual. Relaxing atmosphere. Would eat there again.😀
The food is wonderful. I had fried oysters. I never eat fried seafood and was sad when I got to the last one. We went at a time during the day when it was not crowded.
There are much better options. The food was ok at best. I had a sausage and pepper sub unlike any I have ever had. We won't be going back. Service could have been better, too.
Drove 45 minutes to get here to try the oyster po boy with voodoo sauce, website says they are open till 8pm, drive all the way there to find out the place is closed, come on, is it that hard to let people know on your website? Oh well, not happy about it, probably enough to make me never go back.
Great fried oysters. Generously stacked Po boys. Nice quaint atmosphere, and friendly staff.Best fried okra in town! I've been to Tobone's Po Boys a few times and it's always great. Very reasonable prices for amazing New Orleans style food.
Ask for Billy hes a great server
Very disappointed in this place we are big fans of New Orleans style food and this was sub par at best . I ordered a shrimp po boy and did not even finish it my girlfriend orders gumbo Took two bites and that was it she could not eat it I even tried it and actually spit it out . The waitress was very nice but slow , we sent the gumbo back and they still tried to charge us for it after a few minutes the cook brought us our revised check and was not happy , she put the check on the table and said I need my copy signed .. so I did . We will never return or recommend this place to any one .. Back to Orleans bistro and bar in Titusville..
A new favorite place for me. This is a hidden jem. The food is so good. Can’t wait to bring my family.
Started working in the area in June, was looking forward to a good Po'boy but when I arrived there was a sign on the door "closed for family vacation, see you in July!". "Good for them" I thought, everyone should have vacations even sole proprietors who don't always have that option. Went back today, July 16 - same sign on the door, same status ... closed. I actually looked up their number just for this reason, but couldn't find a phone number for them online. So this makes two trips, zero po'boys. The food may be great, but if you're going to be closed be accurate in your signage about when you'll be open again!
Ordered through Bite Squad for delivery. Was blown away!! Food was outstanding. My husband got the fried shrimp basket and an order of onion rings I had the Big Easy as I am not a big eater. I also got the lobster bisque so I can reheat it for lunch tomorrow. We will definitely be ordering from Tabone's again. I didn't know this restaurant existed. So happy to have discovered it
This is our second visit...we had Groupon coupon that only limited the menu selection. This coupon was purchased well before holidays and we travelled in from out of town. We we're told they were not honoring the coupons Christmas week and try again after Jan 3. (We visited 26 Dec). Again, no verbage anywhere on Groupon stating no good during holiday week between Christmas and New Year's and they would not even let us use at face value. Very poor experience and will not visit again😟😠
Never had any issues with my food. This was my second time around with the groupon. I order med a seafood basket with upgrade to sweet potato fries, rice and beans, with a sweet tea. I owe about $3 leftover and the meal came out on time. Closest I’ll get to my dad’s cooking, but it does need some more spice to it. I like spicy food. Service was better this time around than last time.
Absolutely the best PoBoys anywhere near here. You can taste the oysters and shrimp amongst the rest of the fresh ingredients. The way it should be.Update 6/2018: Still a great local place. Went with a plate today instead of a poboy. Didn't disappoint.
I had the oyster po boy with fried okra. Best i have had around here. And the okra were fresh and cooked perfectly. Prices are fair and beer is ice cold. Definitely worth the stop
I drove to this place at 4:40 on a friday night, after their facebook and google said that they were open, to find them closed. I emailed them to try and figure out what their operating hours are and they have not emailed me back in over two weeks. I also called them on their phone number each day to talk to someone to see if they are open but I get forwarded. If you want to take a chance that they might be open then drive over, otherwise do not pay attention to their operating hours on their facebook because apparently it does not match up. I really wish they would contact me back. The food was good the first and only time I caught them open
Great po boys! Cool place food is awesome!
Great service, great food (beignets!), and great prices in downtown!
I got the fried erster po boy and was a bit skeptical at first but I was definitely blown away by the food. It was delicious and they definitely did not skimp on the oysters. The beignets were also yummy. I will definitely be adding this to my list of favorite restaurants
Ordered for delivery because I work downtown and there was a coupon on their Togo menu however when I called they gave me a hard time about doing a delivery and using a coupon (which was only for a free combo upgrade). I ordered a Blt with a side of sweet potato fries and the delivery took about an hour. It tasted good however I with there was a little more bacon on the sandwich and there were very little fries. I will probably order again sometime but will definitely order something else.
Yummy po boys and delicious beignets!! Hot, fresh, and fast👍
Food good service was ok. I got the french quater fries with bacon that comes on it never had bacon on it . the waitress saidshe didnt make bacon today so cant put it on. What omg thats not my problem
This place is a definite stop for those looking for some good authentic Louisiana style food. The atmosphere is cozy, the staff is friendly, the prices are on par with the quality and portions of food (which is really good btw). Overall, I highly recommend. And if you dont like seafood, no problem, their is tons of other options; I highly recommend the smoked pull pork.
I usually don't recommend restaurants but this place is AWESOME! I just went for lunch and got a sliced pork po'boy and it was delicious. I believe it was the owner that took our orders and she was very friendly but not overbearing (which I hate). I love that it's a small menu because it means they have to specialize in what they serve and, trust me, they do it very well.Go here, you won't be disappointed. Five stars.
